These are the spec scripts that I have written, or I am currently writing. I am constantly working on something, so check back frequently. If any of these stories sound interesting to you and you would like to read more, please contact me!

DO YOU WORK HERE?

Kevin Archambeau is a dedicated and skilled manager of 1-2-3 Pharmacy, who has reason to believe that he is in line for a big promotion. However, a budding forbidden friendship with the rival manager across the street (Greg Bell, Conrad’s Drugs) reveals a pending buyout that threatens to shake up everything that Kevin has worked so hard for. Does he stick it out, and work for his long-time rival company, even if it means sacrificing his potential promotion? Or does he venture out on his own? This career crisis is the catalyst for a non-stop barrage of hilarious interactions that make Kevin question everything.

DYWH is a raucous workplace comedy that has a lot of heart. The 1-2-3 Pharmacy staff is an eclectic group of personalities, and anyone who has worked in the service industry will relate to the mind-blowing customer interactions that permeate the already hectic daily task-load.

Think Waiting meets Office Space meets Superstore. This script takes 20 years of working with the public and distills it down to 115 pages of hilarious interactions, one after another. That’s the meat on the bone. But the skeleton is a narrative that evokes feelings of longing, ambition, inadequacy, and family.

PRETZELS

Ben Brantley is a 23-year-old midwestern boy who is stuck in the mud. His life has been one tragedy after another. He has lost both of his parents, his first serious girlfriend and his college scholarship. All that remains is Ben, his Grandpa Harrison and their golden retriever Pretzels. When all seems lost, a group of close comic friends convince Ben to share his pain on stage and turn his tragedy into a comedy. This opens up a whole new world for Ben, who learns that Grandpa Harrison was a surprisingly well-connected comedian in his early years.

Harrison introduces Ben to Jack Fishman, a legendary entertainer and self-proclaimed “King of the One Liner.” Jack takes Ben under his wing, but just when this apprenticeship seems too good to true, the darkness that has followed Ben for his whole life reappears. Can Ben overcome the ceaseless misfortune that seems destined to find him wherever he goes? Or will he be resigned to the dark cloud that hangs over his head?

Pretzels is a heartwarming story of young man who is determined to succeed against all odds. It reinforces the philosophy that tragedy plus time equals comedy. Ben sees the path that his father and grandfather went down and has to overcome a great deal of trauma and anguish to charter his own course.
