However, a budding forbidden friendship with the rival manager across the street (Greg Bell, Conrad’s Drugs) reveals a pending buyout that threatens to shake up everything that Kevin has worked so hard for. Does he stick it out, and work for his long-time rival company, even if it means sacrificing his potential promotion? Or does he venture out on his own? Ben Brantley is a 23-year-old midwestern boy who is stuck in the mud. His life has been one tragedy after another. He has lost both of his parents, his first serious girlfriend and his college scholarship. All that remains is Ben, his Grandpa Harrison and their golden retriever Pretzels. When all seems lost, a group of close comic friends convince Ben to share his pain on stage and turn his tragedy into a comedy. This opens up a whole new world for Ben, who learns that Grandpa Harrison was a surprisingly well-connected comedian in his early years.

Pretzels is a heartwarming story of young man who is determined to succeed against all odds. It reinforces the philosophy that tragedy plus time equals comedy. Ben sees the path that his father and grandfather went down and has to overcome a great deal of trauma and anguish to charter his own course.
